River stone is a natural boulder, so the exact rock type can vary piece to piece. To be safe with any river stone basin, treat it as acid-sensitive: avoid vinegar, lemon juice, and any acidic bathroom or toilet cleaner, since these can etch or dull the surface whatever the underlying stone.
Wipe the basin dry with a soft cloth after each use to prevent hard-water marks. Clean with a soapy soft cloth or sponge, rinse well and dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cleaners and steel wool. A penetrating impregnating sealer is the right choice if the piece needs sealing; ask us before applying anything else.
