On paper, Palmview is one of the Sunshine Coast's biggest unfinished projects: a 926-hectare master-planned community south of Sippy Downs that the council's Palmview Structure Plan, adopted in March 2016, sets down for about 7,000 houses and around 16,000 people, with completion expected around 2036. Harmony, the first development area of this $4 billion community, has been under construction since 2017, so for years yet someone in Palmview will be standing on a fresh slab deciding what the alfresco, the feature wall and the garden edges should be made of. The Palmview Structure Plan was adopted by Sunshine Coast Council on 22 March 2016, and it commits the suburb to growth on a schedule: 926 hectares, about 7,000 houses, around 16,000 people, complete around 2036. That schedule changes what buying stone here means. In an established suburb, stone usually replaces something worn out; on a new Palmview block it is usually the first hard finish the site has ever had. Harmony has been under construction since 2017, and the wider community is still gaining its planned town centre, traditional main street, three-hectare park and two schools as it builds out.

Can I pick up my order from the Baringa showroom?⌄
No — the Baringa site at 2/7 Matheson St is a showroom with display walls, and pickup is not available there. Orders are delivered, or you can collect from the Stone and Rock warehouse at 3362 Pacific Highway, Springwood, on Brisbane's southside.
We're mid-build in Harmony and haven't finished selections. When should we look at stone?⌄
Early — natural stone varies in colour and finish, so it pays to check real samples against your other selections before anything is locked in. Order a sample through the Samples page, or use the showroom's self-service access any day between 7am and 9pm to see full display walls; staffed hours are Monday to Thursday 8am to 4pm and Friday until 12pm.
Can we install pavers or cladding ourselves to save money?⌄
Customers regularly do: verified reviews describe an owner laying travertine crazy pavers herself, a couple installing no-grout wall cladding, and stacked stone panels called "very easy to tile." Ask staff which products suit a DIY install before you buy.
Does new outdoor stone need sealing?⌄
Unsealed natural stone outdoors generally benefits from a penetrating sealer. The Aqua Mix Enrich'N'Seal stocked by Stone and Rock is manufacturer-specified for unsealed marble, granite, slate, limestone, travertine and quartzite, suits interior and exterior use and is rated to last up to 15 years — but the manufacturer requires it be applied to dry, clean, previously unsealed stone.
Is Stone and Rock cheaper than the big chains?⌄
